Der Neubau für die physikalischen Institute der
Universität Stuttgart (zu sehen in den
Baustellen-, Zentralgebäude- und Institutsgebäude-Perspektiven) dient als Ersatz für das 50
Jahre alte, sanierungsbedürftige Naturwissenschaftliches
Zentrum II (Bau zwischen 1968 und 1974). Baubeginn ist
2025 und die geplante Fertigstellung ist 2030 mit
Einzug 2030/2031.
Der Neubau umfasst zwei über einen Steg verbundene
Gebäude mit einer Nutzfläche von über 18.000
Quadratmetern. Auftraggeber ist das Land
Baden-Württemberg, vertreten durch das
Universitätsbauamt Stuttgart und Hohenheim.
Der Neubau wird sowohl Laboratorien und Büros als auch Lern-
und Lehrräume beherbergen.
The new building for the University of
Stuttgart's physics institutes (visible in the construction
site, main building, and institute building perspectives) will replace the 50-year-old
Natural Sciences Center II (built between 1968 and 1974), which is in need of
renovation. Construction will begin in 2025 and the planned completion date is
2030 with move-in in 2030/2031.
The new building comprises two buildings connected
by a footbridge with a usable area of over 18,000
square meters. The client is the state of
Baden-Württemberg, represented by the Stuttgart and
Hohenheim University Building Authority. The new
building will house laboratories, offices as well as
learning and teaching rooms.

Der Neubau wurde von Hammeskrause Architekten
geplant. Der Stil orientiert sich am schon
fertiggestellten, im Hintergrund gelegenen Neubau des
Zentrums für Angewandte Quantentechnologien (ZAQuant).
Zusammen mit dem renovierten Gebäude im Vordergrund,
welches das Institut für Halbleiteroptik und
Funktionelle Grenzflächen (IHFG) sowie das Institut für
Computerphysik (ICP) beherbergt, vervollständigt der
Neubau die "Magistrale der Physik" der Universität
Stuttgart.

Architekten. The style is based on the already
completed new building of the Center for Applied
Quantum Technologies (ZAQuant) in the background.
Together with the renovated building in the
foreground, which houses the Institute for
Semiconductor Optics and Functional Interfaces
(IHFG) and the Institute for Computational Physics
(ICP), the new building completes the “Magistrale of
Physics” at the University of Stuttgart.
